Access Security

While remote access solutions represent an extension of your network into the outside world, these solutions still remain extremely secure if not actually providing another level of defense against some threats. The data transmitted by a Citrix remote solution doesn't actually contain business data, but only the graphic and mouse/keyboard inputs of the remote session. Additionally, the data transmitted during a remote session is protected using 128-bit (or greater) encryption algorithms, virtually impossible to hack. Since the session only transmits graphics or input and output data, there is no exchange of actual software. This means that the session cannot be used as a conduit for introduction of a virus or any type of malware.

An inherent benefit to the secure architecture of Citrix is throughput. Since data and applications are not being transmitted from point to point, the use of the internet connection during these sessions are extremely efficient.
