Anti-Virus

TNS approaches anti-virus with a multi-layered approach in order to maximize network protection. The 1st line of defense is a UTM-enabled firewall appliance to provide perimeter protection. The 2nd line of defense is software installed at the server level for messaging protection. The 3rd and last line of defense is an AV security client installed on each desktop and laptop connected to the network.

TNS prefers to use a combination of vendor technologies in order to provide a blended solution. This approach ensures that if one vendor technology fails for a given outbreak, the other deployed technologies will still provide protection.

Preferred anti-virus software venders include Trend Micro, Symantec, and McAffee.

VMware

Network virtualization was introduced to the computer industry in the 1960's as a way to utilize large and expensive mainframe hardware, by partitioning off computing cycles and storage. With the introduction of microcomputers and PCs in the 1980's, virtualization was no longer needed. Today, virtualization is making a major comeback as an indispensible technology to help businesses with scalability, security, and infrastructure management.

VMware leads the industry in developing virtualization technology that revolutionizes IT infrastructure for businesses ranging from large scale data centers to single-server boutique firms. By deploying VMware products such as Virtual Infrastructure, Converter, VMotion and VCenter, IT administrators can not only increase the ease of network manageability, but also increase ROI by combating hardware underutilization, decreasing hardware footprints, cutting management costs, and increasing reliability.

TNS deploys VMware products to promote savings and manageability via server consolidation and to leverage VMware into an effective and stable BC/DR solution. TNS is a VMware enterprise partner.
